Alex Murdaugh New trial September
In a September move for a new trial, Murdaugh’s lawyers claimed the court clerk had persuaded the jury to find Murdaugh guilty of killing his wife and adult son in order to hasten the panel’s decision.
Jurors were allegedly encouraged by Rebecca Hill not to believe Murdaugh’s testimony and to “not be fooled” by the facts put forth by Murdaugh’s counsel. Hill has refuted the allegations. The Associated Press reports that a new judge will determine whether or not to hold a hearing on the motion.
