President William Ruto’s international travels have continued to pay off, as other nations have announced plans to offer Kenyan students employment in a variety of fields. In a notification, the Ministry of Labor has extended an invitation to candidates to apply for 2, 500 available positions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s health sector.

Personal assistants, healthcare assistant specialists, and general nurses are needed to cover the positions.

The notification further clarified that Kenya’s government and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are working together to improve labor migration that is safe, regular, and fruitful between the two nations.

After criticism from the opposition, Ruto was recently obliged to justify his foreign travels, claiming that it was because of them that he could seal various deals that would benefit the nation.

He mentioned, for example, that he had secured job opportunities for Kenyans on his recent visit to Saudi Arabia after a bilateral deal was struck.

Interested female candidates must be between the ages of 22 and 35, have a valid police clearance certificate, and have a bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in nursing.

Those with diplomas should be recent graduates with no prior experience, while those with degrees must have served continuously for at least two years.

On the other hand, holders of certificates must have a minimum of one year of continuous service experience.

Along with having good spoken and written English ability, the applicants should also be in good health.

Prometric test results and a data flow verification report for the schooling certificate, nursing council license, or most recent employment certificate are additional criteria for eligibility.

The terms of service include eight hours of work, a two-year renewable contract, and a round-trip airfare, with overtime paid in compliance with national labor rules.

Average estimated salary is degree holders receive 3,500 Saudi Arabian Riyals (SAR) (Sh147,670), diploma holders receive 3,000 SAR (Sh126,574), and certificate holders receive 2,200 SAR (Sh92,821).

Interested parties must register and submit applications via the National Employment Authority website.

According to Statehouse spokesman Hussein Mohamed, Ruto’s efforts to interact with foreign partners and negotiate frameworks to link Kenyans with job prospects have resulted in these changes.

“The President is committed to promoting Kenya as an investment, manufacturing, trade, and tourism destination, positioning it as a competitive source of professional, skilled, and semi-skilled labor,” Hussein said.

He went on to say that the completion of bilateral labor accords has led to the opening of greater chances.

In his statement, he mentioned that there are 250,000 jobs available in Germany, 30,000 in Israel, and 3,000 opportunities, primarily in agriculture, that will be disclosed by March.

There are about 20,000 construction and service-related jobs in Serbia and an additional 10,000 in Russia.
