On Sunday 3rd, March Merely a day after Nollywood actor John Okafor (Mr Ibu), passed away, his adopted daughter Jasmine renamed his TikTok account to her name.
With over a million followers, the account was formerly known as @realmribu but currently uses the handle @LadyJasminec_live.
In addition to changing her name, Jasmine appears to have deleted most of Mr. Ibu’s videos, leaving only roughly seven in which she appears.
Many of Mr. Ibu’s admirers were offended by this action on social media, where they claim Jasmine is undermining the actor’s legacy.
Supporters think Mr. Ibu’s social media profiles ought to honor his life and career rather than being utilized for other objectives.
About the post on X, Dr. Olukemi Olunloyo stated, “Is a cardiac arrest Mr. Ibu’s cause of death? which makes sense given his variety of illnesses. But why did Jasmine, his adopted daughter, convert all of his Instagram and TikTok identities to her name? It ought to have been remembered by them.
