“I am too cute!” Sean Andrew; Kibaki’s Grandson Speaks On Being Eliminated from a Modelling Gig

Date:

The late President Mwai Kibaki’s grandson, Sean Andrew Mwaura Kibaki, has discussed his experiences in the commercial modeling industry in an interview video posted on YouTube.

In the interview, Andrew described a singular experience in which he had first landed a modeling gig with an ad agency, only to have the chance snatched away at the last minute.

He made it through the audition process with success and had bright prospects, but the day before the shoot, he got a depressing call.

Surprisingly, the agency told him he had been eliminated from the project because he was “too cute” for the part that was meant for him.

He remembered his response clearly, saying, What does that mean I am too cute?”

Andrew expressed his confusion over the reason for his termination, stating that he could not figure out how someone could be deemed “too cute” for a modeling role.

The agency made it clear that they were looking for a more grown-up image because Andrew seemed a little too young. Andrew recalled being angry and frustrated and hurling his phone.

It’s interesting to note that some of his pals were able to land the modeling job that he lost because of how adorable others thought he was.

Sean Andrew’s story sheds light on the erratic and occasionally out-of-the-ordinary standards that exist in the modeling business, where being “too cute” can make it more difficult to get certain gigs. He expressed how difficult it was for him to understand why he had been fired, wondering how he could have been seen as too adorable for the position.

Apart from his pursuits in modeling, Sean Andrew hails from a prominent political family in Kenya. Despite his family’s political history, he has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry by being active on social media.

In late July 2023, Sean Andrew addressed vloggers during the grand inauguration of Chateau 254 Cellar Gastro Club, which is owned by Vesha Okello, Akothee’s daughter. He made a point of saying that he didn’t like politics and that it was too nasty.

Sean Andrew declared his commitment to serve people in his way as a private citizen and claimed that he believed public service could be accomplished without getting involved in politics.
